CORRECT SCORE king Glen Scurfield (@GScurfTrader) returns with three more of his favourite scores this weekend.
Stoke v Manchester City | Saturday 12.45 | BT Sport 1
Manchester City look to put some space between themselves and the rest of the Premier League table as they travel to the Britannia Stadium in the early Saturday kick-off.
Stoke have been inconsistent at the Britannia this season, with wins against Chelsea and Bournemouth but losses to newly-promoted Watford and West Brom. It ‘s been hard to assess the Potters’ home form.
City had the perfect start to the season away from home, winning their first three games and not conceding a goal. Of the six City road trips, Manuel Pellegrini’s men have kept five clean sheets.
Stoke have lost three games at the Britannia and from those three they’ve failed to score. City to win ‘to nil’ may prove to be a good bet. With 67% of City’s away games and 67% of Stoke’s home games featuring Under 2.5 Goals, it may also be worth taking unders.
My preference is to back a 2-0 Manchester City win at 8/1 with BetVictor.
Brentford v MK Dons | Saturday 15.00
Brentford have scored first in 10 of their previous 18 home games. However, MK Dons have drawn the first-half in all of their five fixtures against teams who are in the middle-third.
You will have to go back to the start of the season to find MK Dons’ last away success, in which they beat Rotherham 4-1. Since then, they’ve lost five of their eight on the road, managing to score just three goals.
Brentford have won three of their previous four at Griffin Park, with their only defeat in that time coming against high-flying Hull. In Brentford’s nine home outings, four have been won with three ending in 2-1 victories.
A repeat 2-1 home win can be snapped up at 17/2 with BetVictor.
Newcastle v Liverpool | Sunday 16.00 | Sky Sports 1
Well, if you’re a Newcastle fan like myself, it isn’t going to get any better. Especially not this weekend when the Jurgen Klopp bandwagon rolls into town…
The Toon have lost eight of their previous nine meetings against top-six teams, while Liverpool have won seven of their previous nine against clubs in the bottom-six.
This game looks certain to produce Over 2.5 Goals with both teams bolstering impressive percentages. Liverpool have been in pretty impressive form of late and with the return of Daniel Sturridge, the Newcastle back-five may be in for a very long afternoon.
I wouldn’t be surprised if there was a red card, so that may be worth looking into further. But my play will be to take Liverpool to win 4-1 at 28/1 with BetVictor.
Best Bets
Stoke v Manchester City – Manchester City to win 2-0 (8/1 BetVictor)
Brentford v MK Dons – Brentford to win 2-1 (17/2 BetVictor)
Newcastle v Liverpool – Liverpool to win 4-1 (28/1 BetVictor)
