Correct Score: Super Sunday to see two Premier League stalemates

Pep - Man City

CORRECT SCORE specialist Daniel McCulloch (@danmcc84) delivers his best bets from Sunday’s Premier League coupon.

Bournemouth v Southampton | Sunday 13:30 | Sky Sports 1

Given that these two sides are level on 21 points it would take a brave man to predict a comfortable victory for either side in what is likely to be an attritional south coast derby. Whilst Bournemouth fans are mostly content with their start to the season, the same cannot be said for their neighbours

. Still, Southampton fans should not be too disappointed about their general play. On chances alone, the Saints should have amassed considerably more victories, with Sunderland, Stoke and Watford among those to have taken a point off them despite being distinctly second best.

It is easy to see where their problems lie, with just three goals from their last seven games. That said, they do continue to create chances and I think they are more than capable of breaching a Bournemouth backline that has been very inconsistent this season.

Some excellent last-ditch defending saw them keep a clean sheet against Leicester on Tuesday night but they conceded nine goals in their previous three matches.

I am convinced that Southampton will start turning draws into victory but hopefully they don’t start on Sunday!

Claude Puel’s men have recorded three 1-1 results already this season and at 6/1 with BetVictor, I would chance a fourth this afternoon.

Manchester City v Arsenal | Sunday 16:30 | Sky Sports 1

City’s much-maligned defence kept just their second clean sheet at The Etihad this season on Wednesday night but its hard to make a case for them doing so against a free-scoring Arsenal side.

1-1 has certainly been a popular scoreline for Pep’s men – three of their last five home Premier League games have finished in this manner – and I would like to have that on side.

Arsenal’s games against other title contenders Tottenham and Liverpool both finished this way and I believe that the 7/1 BetVictor are offering is rather generous (its as low as 11/2 elsewhere).

I am, however, concerned that City may just nick it so put a saver on 2-1 to the home side. Two of their last three victories have been by this scoreline and it was the same result Arsenal suffered on Tuesday night.

Best Bets

Bournemouth v Southampton – Bournemouth 1-1 Southampton (6/1 BetVictor)

Manchester City v Arsenal – Manchester City 1-1 Arsenal (7/1 BetVictor)

Manchester City v Arsenal – Manchester City 2-1 Arsenal (17/2 SkyBet)
