Paderborn v Bayern Munich | Saturday 28th September 2019, 14:30
Phillipe Coutinho brought to the table a majestic performance during Bayern Munich’s 4-0 hammering of Koln last weekend. The Brazilian was tragically misused whilst at Barcelona and Bayern Munich look set to reap all the benefits of this ,which was indicated with his latest display.
Coutinho was positioned just behind Lewandowski and the two look to be creating a beautiful partnership which Bayern will hope will bring both domestic and European success. This was highlighted when the Polish striker gave the ball to Coutinho for him to score from the penalty spot for the playmaker to gain confidence at his new club.
Coutinho attempted an incredible five shots against Koln last weekend and once he gets his sights fine-tuned then it is an inevitability that he will be slamming one of his trademark strikes in the Bundesliga in the coming weeks.
Coutinho will no doubt be a key player for Bayern this season and has been brought in to give the German giants an X-Factor which they have been lacking in the last couple of years. With RB Leipzig and Borussia Dortmund looking stronger this year, it is crucial that Coutinho can find his Anfield form to allow the Bavarians to continue to dominate.
If Coutinho continues where he left off from last week, it will be no problem for the Brazilian playmaker to find the net against the bottom side of the Bundesliga. He is 13/10 (BetVictor) to net.
Borussia Dortmund v Werder Bremen | Saturday 28th September 2019, 17:30 | BT Sport
At Signal Iduna Park this weekend, Dortmund host Werder Bremen in a match which promises to be packed with entertainment and goals. Both sides play attacking football and do not understand how to go into a game throwing caution to the wind.
There have been 22 goals in Dortmund’s five games so far this season and 20 goals in Bremen’s matches. Dortmund have averaged three goals per-game in 2019/20, which is fortunate as they have conceded the most in the top half of the table. This was their Achilles heel last season as it was their vulnerability at the back which could be blamed for their capitulation towards the backend of the last campaign.
Luckily for Dortmund, they face a side who have conceded 12 goals in five games, keeping a grand total of zero clean sheets.
There have been 25 goals in the last six games between the two sides, averaging just over four per-game. With the likes of Jaden Sancho, Marco Reus, Paco Alcacer, Yuya Osako and Milot Rashica on the field; goals look like something that just has to happen in this fixture.
Dortmund will no doubt be favourites for this match and they are currently a wounded beast following their disappointing result to Frankfurt. Just like how Man City slaughtered Watford following a poor result at Norwich, the worst time to play one of the elite teams in a league is when they have something to prove and Werder Bremen might just be the side who are in the firing line for a brutal beating in front of the Yellow Wall.
Borussia Dortmund to win and Both Teams To Score (11/8 Boylesports) is the call.
Fortuna Dusseldorf v Freiburg | Sunday 29th September 2019, 14:30 | BT Sport
On Sunday afternoon, Freiburg travel to Fortuna Dusseldorf in a game where the visitors are flying high with confidence.
Freiburg have made an excellent start to the 2019/20 campaign. Whilst crashing the top four, the Black Forest club have been superb, scoring 11 goals in five games. In both their away games they have managed to score in both halves. Their last away game was a superb 0-3 win against Hoffenheim and Christian Streich’s side will bring confidence from such an effort, knowing they can damage Dusseldorf.
Dusseldorf have not kept a home clean sheet in 2019 and Freiburg will be well aware of this and looking to maintain their good form. With three of their strikes scoring two or more times so far this season, and having scored in each league game so far, Freiburg head into the game with the belief that they have multiple players to score, making it harder for Fortuna to know how to stop a confident attack.
Freiburg to score in both halves appeals at 12/5 (SkyBet).
