Bournemouth v Everton: Goal-glut forecast for Super Sunday

Everton - Richarlison

EVERTON welcome Bournemouth to Dean Court  on Super Sunday. Anthony Olsson (@Ant_olsson93) analyses the encounter.

Bournemouth v Everton | Sunday 15th September 2019, 14:00 | Sky Sports

Sunday afternoon sees Bournemouth host Everton at Dean Court in what should hopefully be an entertaining game.

Bournemouth have started the season in rather underwhelming fashion and they are without a win since the second week of the campaign when they overcame Aston Villa 2-1. The Cherries haven’t been great at home this year and have won just three Premier League as hosts this calendar year.

In contrast to that, Everton have also struggled away in the Premier League with their last victory on the road coming at the end of March. The Toffees have struggled for goals on their travels, drawing a blank in four of their past five games as guests.

Bournemouth will be confident of getting a good result in this one having never lost against Everton in the Premier League but their current form doesn’t make them easy to back. The same could be said for Everton with their rotten road record.

It’s difficult to stick your neck out for either team in this match with the inconsistent nature of both sides. One angle I do like though is goals. Over 2.5 Goals and Both Teams To Score (1/1 SkyBet) would have landed in six out of the last nine meetings between the teams in all competitions.

Another angle to consider arises in the cards market and it revolves around Bournemouth midfielder Jefferson Lerma, who has become a card machine during his time in the Premier League.

The Colombian picked up 12 yellows last term in the Premier League and already has two to his name n four fixtures. Lerma has also picked up a booking in his last three games for club and country when he has played 90 minutes. Lerma is 7/4 (Unibet) to be shown a card – he’ll have to contend with a tough Everton midfield and a skilful attack who can pose plenty of problems on their day.

Everton have scored only four goals in four games this season but they will fancy themselves at being able to breakdown a brittle Bournemouth defence that’s shipped nine goals already. In Brazilian forward Richarlison, the visitors have a great talent who is capable of hurting opposition defences.

Richarlison has three goals in his last two appearances for the Merseysiders and he is one of their main goal sources. The Everton ace is currently 21/10 (SpreadEx) to score at any time in this match and I think that is a good angle, with goals expected.
