Arsenal are looking to bounce back from a late derby day defeat to Spurs as they welcome the new champions to North London.

There’s worst times to face Liverpool, mind, the Reds have looked vulnerable conceding in three of their last four. The Merseysiders actually lost the Expected Goals (xG) battle in their game at the AMEX conceding 2.88 xG, and that is a worry and they’ve looked shaky at the back on the eye too.

Nick Pope was in inspired form yet again for the Clarets in that weekend draw at Anfield but their defence did look like it could be got at.

Arsenal gaffer Mikel Arteta may take some added encouragement from the Gunners’ excellent home form against Liverpool. Arsenal are undefeated in 21 of their last 23 home matches against Liverpool in all competitions which is quite astounding.

Generally it’s been at the Emirates where the Gunners have done their best work. They’re now unbeaten in seven here with five of those being wins. What’s more they’ve only failed to score once on home turf all season and that was against Manchester City.

All things considered I do expect this to be an entertaining game. Both have threats going forward and there’s not that much left for Liverpool to play for so I don’t expect the level of concentration will be at its optimum. Both Teams To Score therefore looks a nice way in, the only problem is the bookies agree with it chalked up as short as 4/7.

To get a bit more juice out of that I’ll throw in both sides to pick up Over 0 Cards alongside BTTS via Bet365’s Betbuilder, that brings about a nice 5/4 shot.

Arsenal are renowned for their ill-discipline this season – no side has picked up as many as the Gunners (76 yellows and five reds). Liverpool, on the other hand, have been relatively well behaved but more so at Anfield. That being said they have seen at least one card shown to them every game since lockdown and Arsenal are the fourth-most fouled team in the league.

I’d fully expect a caution for each side here in what should be an end-to-end game, we hope.
