Arsenal v Brighton: Sanchez could prove scintillating as the Gunners to outperform Brighton

Alexis Sanchez - Arsenal

WEST BROM fan Daniel McCulloch (@danmcc84) believes there’s value backing Arsenal with a dollop of Alexis Sanchez.

Arsenal take on their second ‘Albion’ within the space of a week and they will be hoping for a similar result – and refereeing performance – to that they enjoyed against West Bromwich on Monday.

So far, this term Arsene Wenger’s men have treated us to their usual mix of the sublime and the ridiculous. They were scintillating going forward against Leicester and Bournemouth but very poor against Stoke and beyond woeful when Liverpool beat them by four goals to nil.
With this in mind, it’s hard to know what kind of display to expect from them at The Emirates on Sunday afternoon.

Thankfully their opponents Brighton are a little easier to gauge. Except for Leicester (when they conceded in the opening minute), the rest of their games have been tight affairs. Indeed, four of their matches did not feature a first-half goal and the net has bulged on just twelve occasions in their opening six matches.

Arsenal could out-gun Brighton

I believe Arsenal will win but given that Brighton has yet to concede more than two goals in a game, I find it hard to believe they will be hammered here. BetVictor are offering 11/10 on Arsene Wenger’s side to win and there to be less than 3.5 goals in the game.

This bet would have obliged in 12 of Arsenal’s last 22 home games. Additionally all three of Brighton’s defeats this term have featured three goals or fewer so I believe that odds against quotes represent excellent value.

In other markets, I like the look of Alexis Sanchez to be the first goalscorer at 4/1 with SkyBet. This is more of a feeling rather than data-based decision (although this bet did oblige on eight occasions the last term) as I simply feel the Chilean is ‘due’. He is yet to score in the league this season but only an excellent Ben Foster save denied him on Monday and I expect Arsenal’s star man to go on a goal-scoring spree shortly.

Best Bets

Arsenal v Brighton – Arsenal to win and under 3.5 goals (11/10 BetVictor)

Arsenal v Brighton – Alexis Sanchez to score first (4/1 SkyBet)
