The A-League season is in full swing and this weekend’s action gets underway with Adelaide United hosting Brisbane Roar. Both sides have started the season well, only tasting defeat once each so far.

One of the players who has caught the eye in the early stages has been Adam Taggart. The Socceroo striker moved to Roar in the off-season and was given the responsibility of being the number nine, something he’s thriving on with five goals in his first five games.

Taggart currently leads the scoring charts along with Adam Le Fondre of Sydney FC. He looks really sharp in the final-third and with the likes of Eric Bautheac and Tobias Mikkelsen pulling the strings behind him, there’s a very good chance of increasing his goal total for the season as he aims to prove why head coach, John Aloisi, has put his faith in him.

Coming into this match, Taggart is 8/5 as an Anytime Goalscorer and 5/1 First Goalscorer (Bet365) and that could prove to be a value bet to kick-off the weekend.

Taggart has had 17 shots in the opening five games, meaning the chances are definitely being created for him and he’ll be in prime position to add to his tally with Adelaide conceding a goal a game in the 2018/19 season.
