ON top of the live game on Wednesday, there are two other FA Cup Third Round replays for Chris Graham (@chrisgraham79) to chew over.
Bradford v Millwall | Wednesday 19:45
There are cases of sides struggling in the league but managing to perform well in the FA Cup. Wigan in 2013 springs obviously to mind. But it really is hard to have faith in Millwall at the moment.
The Lions have just one win from their last 12 matches and suffered the ignominy of losing to bottom side Blackpool at the weekend. Ian Holloway must have grabbed some cardboard boxes from his local supermarket just in case he has to pack away all his work stuff and leave the club. That might happen sooner rather than later.
This is a horrid tie for the South London club as opponents Bradford have had a great Christmas and sit in the League One play-off positions. Phil Parkinson’s side have won seven of their last 11 games and suffered just one defeat in that spell. That came against Rochdale on Saturday.
As well all know, Bradford have cup pedigree, having reached the Capital One Cup Final in 2013 and at 29/20 to win this fixture I have to get involved. There are only seven positions between these sides in the Football League so the more you look that price the more it appeals.
Tottenham v Burnley | Wednesday 20:00
I’m just not convinced that either of these mangers aren’t viewing this game as anything other than an utter ball ache to be honest. Both have strong targets to achieve in the league and this competition must be a distraction for me. Poor old FA Cup eh?
How do you assess it from a betting angle? Well Spurs are best price 8/15 to win with Paddy Power and that’s too short for me. Not many sides will relish taking on Burnley at the moment. After all this is a side who came back from 2-0 down to draw 2-2 with the champions at the Etihad during the festive season.
Having said that, I can’t believe Sean Dyche won’t have one eye on Burnley’s Saturday home match against Crystal Palace. In the words of lazy pundits, that looks a six pointer.
Burnley have found it tough away from home this season. They’ve picked up just one win from their 10 Premier League road matches although they have scored in four of their last five trips. I can see them scoring again here.
Tottenham are now unbeaten in seven matches at home after overcoming some awkward White Hart Lane results in the first quarter of the season. Despite their short price, you would expect them to reach the Fourth Round. They beat Burnley 2-1 on home turf back just before Christmas and I could see the same scoreline occurring on Wednesday.
Burnley are so full of confidence at the moment I can see them scoring, while overall I can see Spurs going through. So the (small stakes) bet for me is the 21/20 with BetVictor that we see exactly two or three goals in this match.
