Sunday’s Rome derby promises to be a fantastic occasion. I’d often recommend avoid betting on such a game but the odds on a Roma win are just too appealing to avoid. BetVictor have made Roma 21/20 and I’ve have to get involved.
Roma are not playing their best football of the season but if you look at the table, they’re just sit one point behind league leaders Juventus with the Bianconeri facing a very difficult game at Napoli on Sunday night. This would represent an incredible opportunity for the Giallorossi to win the derby and take top spot.
Roma are definitively a level above Lazio but when you face such kind of heated and passionate matches you don’t look at the technical part at first. Lazio are in a fantastic form, arriving from a 3-0 win against Sampdoria and in Felipe Anderson they’ve found an astonishing new talent.
Anderson plays on the right where he can cut inside and wreak havoc as he did against Samp, where he literally tore the opponents’ defence apart. Roma will hope that Alessandro Florenzi will help Maicon in containing the young Brazilian.
But Lazio have several issues in their back-line as well and Roma, with Francesco Totti, Juan turbe, Miralem Pijanic and Kevin Strootman, could find some joy. The fact that Lazio are in a good run will give them some confidence and I think will push them to make mistakes rather than be more cautious and defensive. And that might cost them.
