THERE’S live Championship action on Monday night as Fulham face Brighton. Chris Graham (@chrisgraham79) takes a look at the odds.
Fulham v Brighton | Monday 20:00
It’s been a turbulent Christmas for Brighton with Sami Hyypia resigning last Monday. First team coach Nathan Jones took the reins for their Boxing Day match with Reading in a game that ended 1-1.
Now Jones takes his side to West London to face 16th place Fulham. With no away win since mid-August in the division, this looks a massive task for Albion.
After their nightmare start to the season (six losses in their first seven league games), Fulham have climbed up to the lower reaches of the mid-table under coach Kit Symons. The relegated club have lost just three games in their last 12 Championship matches and have beaten the likes of Norwich, Sheffield Wednesday and Charlton in recent weeks. It’s worth pointing out that those three defeats have come against sides currently in the Championship Top 6.
Their form at Craven Cottage has also much to admire, with five wins in their last seven home matches. The 13/10 on Fulham with BetVictor certainly holds some appeal.
Going back to Brighton though, it’s hard not to be encouraged by their display on Boxing Day. 2-0 down after just 26 minutes, they managed to claw their back into the game courtesy of a last minute equaliser. On top of that they dominated possession and might just be feeling the benefit of Hyypia’s exit.
I’ll be siding with goals here in this match. Fulham have scored 12 in their last five home games, while despite their troubles, Brighton have scored in seven of their last nine matches.
Over 2.5 Goals is Evens with Paddy Power and that appeals. Four of the last six Brighton games went Over, while Fulham fans have witnessed their side involved in three or more goal games in 10 of their last 12 matches. Sounds good eh?
