Asian Handicap Tips | Boxing Day 2014

IT’S one of the big betting days of the year, but how is our Asian Handicap man Dark Dyson (@dark_dyson) planning to make profit?

Tottenham Hotspur v Leicester City | Friday 15:00

Spurs are finally getting to grips with Mauricio Pochettion’s methods, strategy and gruelling fitness regime. They have been finishing games strongly and in Harry Kane, they have an all round striker in great form.

Meanwhile, the Foxes already looked doomed to relegation with just 10pts after 17 games. Couple this with the fact that Spurs are 3rd in the away table this season and you can imagine my surprise when I realised they are odds against to win this game.

With value and form, my two favourite bet indicators in place, this was an easy pick for Boxing Day. Tottenham -0.5 at 16/13 with BetVictor should see us bank a nice profit.

Manchester United v Newcastle United | Friday 15:00

The Red Devils have been in great form of late having won six and drawn one of their previous seven games. Also, Old Trafford is slowly returning to it’s former glory with United dropping just two points from their last eight home games and those were in the draw against league leaders Chelsea.

Over in the North East, Newcastle’s form doesn’t inspire confidence. They have now lost their last three matches in all competitions including the Tyne & Wear Derby and have conceded nine goals in the process.

Again my tissue price indicated that Van Gaal’s team are decent value, which doesn’t happen often at home so I’ll be backing Manchester United -1.5 at 11/10 with Bet365 and hope for a drama free 2-0 home win.

Swansea City v Aston Villa | Friday 15:00

Swansea have suffered a couple of defeats recently which has seen them drop down the table a little to perhaps a more realistic position of eighth, but there’s a lot to like about Garry Monk’s team and they almost always give a good account of themselves at home.

After losing six in a row earlier in the season, Aston Villa have only lost one of the last seven since that horrific run. They put in a strong performance against Man United last week, in a game which saw the return of key players, Ron Vlaar and Fabien Delph.

This week both Alan Hutton and Tom Cleverley are available again and Gabby Agbonlahor’s red card was rescinded so Villa will be at full strength, which they’ve not been able to do very often.

They often play better away from home and I like their chances of taking at least a point here so, I’ll be backing Aston Villa +0.75 at 68/67 with BetVictor.
