Chris Graham (@chrisgraham79) has delved into Scottish League One for a bet on Tuesday night.
Brechin v Stirling Albion | Tuesday 19:45
Off to League One for a bet on Tuesday night as seventh place Brechin host bottom of the table Stirling Albion. One things for sure, the bookmakers are expecting goals in this match. Over 2.5 Goals is as short as 2/5 in a number of places, and that’s the kind of price that chills the soul. I think there’s a decent chance of goals in this match, but I reckon they might come exclusively from Brechin.
Over 2.5 Goals is so short because of the vulnerabilities of Stirling Albion. The Bino’s have leaked 27 goals in their 11 league games this season and they’re already four points adrift at the foot of the table. They needed an epic penalty shoot out to eliminate non-league Hurlford United in the Scottish Cup at the weekend and haven’t won in the league since August 23rd. Yes, they’re a poor side.
The angle I’ll cling to here, is that they fail to score. They’ve drew a blank in six of their 11 league games this season, so on that basis it’s odds on to happen again. Naturally they’ve scored the least amount of goals in the division with just 11 netted.
Brechin really should win this match with Albion’s form so poor. The Glebe Park side have won three of their last five matches in all competitions and look a fair price at 7/10 with William Hill to take the three points. I’ll be bolder and back them to win to nil with BetVictor at 27/10.
Ray McKinnon’s side kept a clean sheet in their last match in the league at the end of October and can do so again. Plus how much will that epic Scottish Cup tie on Saturday have taken out of Stirling Albion? Let’s find out.
