My selection this week comes from the Betfred Cup as Premiership outfit St Mirren travel south to face Queen of the South.
Saints sit joint bottom of the top-flight after a run of six defeats on the spin but they’ve been a bit unlucky, losing the last four by the odd goals.
The Buddies got back to winning ways on Wednesday night with a 4–1 win against Patrick Thistle in this competition.
QOS played their first competitive game in six months on Tuesday drawing 2-2 with Morton. Allan Johnstone will use the tournament to get his players up to speed ahead of the Championship season kick-off next weekend.
St Mirren are well into their season and should use this to their advantage against Queens, who are still building up match fitness. Therefore, I’ll take the away win at 9/10 (William Hill).
