At the time of writing, we do actually have a second game on the schedule for Monday night due to Patriots QB Cam Newton testing positive for Covid causing the postponement of their Sunday evening game, but given the fluid nature of these situations I’m going to stick to originally scheduled game of Atlanta facing off against Green Bay.
Last week I had the Ravens to score in every quarter in their marquee match-up against the Chiefs and despite them failing to really get it going all game, they still managed to put up points in each quarter. This week I think it’s a simple call to back the Packers to do the exact same thing and Score in Every Quarter (5/4 Bet365).
Aaron Rodgers has excellent so far this season – presumably fired up by Green Bay drafting his presumptive replacement (Jordan Love) rather than a WR in the first round of this year’s draft – and has led the Packers to a 3-0 record, along with a league-leading 40.7 points per game. Oh, and they’ve also scored in every single quarter so far.
They’ll be going up against their polar opposite on defence too, with the Falcons defence conceding an average of 36 points a game, which is the worst in the league. Even with Davante Adams a game-time decision and Allen Lazard ruled out, I still expect Rodgers to have his way with this woeful defence that has contrived to lose games they really should have won.
I’m not too worried about the Packers letting up late in the game either as this shouldn’t be a blowout due to the play of Falcons QB Matt Ryan. He’s had to score heavily to compensate for his defence (or lack thereof) and, helped by WR Calvin Ridley’s breakout, has done just that.
The Packers are rightly favoured in this game and I think they’ll be scoring with ease throughout the game.
