THREE more bets lined up for the Premier League weekend. How many can Chris Graham (@chrisgraham79) get right this week?
Liverpool v Hull | Saturday 15:00
Liverpool have been in the news all week after their fortunate win over QPR was followed by a humbling at the hands of Real Madrid but it’s their opponents that have helped me shape this bet.
Hull are a great side to follow this season. They’ve scored in every Premier League game, are up in 11th after their excellent draw against Arsenal last Saturday and I’m pretty sure will be competitive in this fixture. Only six sides have scored more goals than Hull this season in the league and my WLB colleague Jim Knight beat me to it by backing them to score 2 or more v Arsenal last week. I wouldn’t rule out a similar punt this weekend. It’s worth noting they concede also, in fact only five sides have conceded more.
Liverpool have banged in goals in seven of their eight Premier League matches this season and are more than capable of registering here. Therefore, naturally it’s Both Teams To Score for me at 17/20 with Bet365. And I’ll also be backing Hull at 7/1 with Sportingbet, as that’s too big.
Man Utd v Chelsea | Sunday 16:00 | Sky Sports 1
I’m going to keep this simple and spare you the mass analysis. Chelsea are a fantastic team that are dominating this division and when prices of 6/4 are available on them it has to be backed.
The London side are unbeaten and have won 7 of their 8 league games. The only dropped points came at a fiendishly difficult match at the Etihad against Manchester City and there was absolutely no shame in coming away with a point there. They have 10 more points than Man Utd, they have scored eight more goals than Man Utd and they’ve conceded four less goals than Man Utd. In truth, there just a much better team.
Those of us who started to feel Louis Van Gaal’s side had turned the corner had custard pie on our faces on Monday night when they failed to beat West Brom, and it’s a pattern I see re-emerging throughout the season. I’m getting with Chelsea at 6/4 with William Hill.
QPR v Aston Villa | Monday 20:00 | Sky Sports 1
Those who follow me on Twitter will know I’m dead against Aston Villa this season. I think 11/2 is too big on them to go down. So, naturally I have to be with QPR on Monday night.
Aston Villa have lost four games in a row and have failed to score in each defeat. I thought they might keep it tight against an Everton side who haven’t clicked yet but still lost 3-0. I think they’re a poor team.
QPR are having a rough ol’ season for sure but there have been definite signs of improvement in two of their last three games. The narrow defeat to Southampton had positives, while the injustice of their Liverpool loss might just sting them into action. There are signs of unrest at the club with the manager Harry Redknapp engaging in some highly unprofessional behaviour but I have to take a chance here at odds of 29/20 with Skybet.
