DAILY RECORD star Mr Fixit (@mrfixittps) shares his best bets from Saturday’s Scottish action.
Hamilton v Celtic | Saturday 24th November 2018, 12:30 | BT Sport
All eyes will be on one player this Saturday.
James Forrest has been elevated to Tartan Army hero status after two scintillating shows against Albania and Israel. The Celtic winger fired in five times to lead Alex McLeish’s men to the Nations League play-offs.
It’s back to the bread and butter for Forrest with the leaders heading to Hamilton in the lunchtime game. I tipped Forrest at 4/1 to net against Israel and assuming he’s not shattered, he’ll be tough to stop.
Forrest is 24/13 with Unibet to score at the HopCBD Stadium and 11/2 to break the deadlock.
Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers isn’t a fan of plastic pitches but his side have a great record in Hamilton having won five out of six and drawn the other. The champions have netted nine in three visits and hopefully the international players who have been away will be ready to go again – the likes of Mikael Lustig, Ryan Christie and Callum McGregor.
The Hoops signed off before the international break with a 0-0 stalemate but before that they were flying with 20 goals in four league games.
Accies have shipped at least three goals in four of their last six so go for Celtic to score 3+ at evens with Paddy Power.
Rangers v Livingston | Saturday 24th November 2018, 15:00
Elsewhere in the top-flight, Rangers will be looking to revenge a defeat they suffered at Livingston.
Steven Gerrard’s men are much stronger on home soil and are just 3/10 at Bet365.
Last time out Rangers hammered seven past Motherwell and have netted 12 in three.
I’m backing Gers -1 at 10/11 with Paddy Power, which has landed in five of their six league games at Ibrox.
Livi have failed to score in three although that includes a 0-0 at home to Celtic.
Fraserburgh v Auchinleck Talbot | Saturday 24th November 2018, 15:00
It’s Scottish Cup third round day on Saturday and junior giants Auchinleck are well capable of progressing. They’ve already beaten Highland League opposition in the first two rounds and can make it a hat-trick here.
Talbot started by seeing off Nairn, then dumped champions Cove out at home after a draw in the Highlands.
They make the long trip again, this time to Fraserburgh, and the professionalism of this junior outfit is such they have money behind them to travel up the night before.
So they’ll be well prepared to go all guns blazing and I fancy Talbot at 11/5 with Betway.
