DAILY RECORD star Mr Fixit (@mrfixitstips) picks out his best bet for Scotland’s friendly international against Belgium on Friday night.
Scotland v Belgium | Friday 7th September 2018, 19:45 | Sky Sports
Belgium are the warm-up act for Scotland’s Nations League debut and they don’t come much tougher.
Roberto Martinez’s men are in action for the first time since winning a World Cup third-place play-off against England and most of their big guns will be in action at Hampden on Friday night.
A notable absence is injured Manchester City star Kevin de Bruyne but the Belgians have enough talent to overcome his loss.
All week their price has crashed and best on offer now is Belgium at 1/2 with Ladbrokes while Scotland are 7/1 at Bet365 with the draw 17/5 with Unibet.
The betting angles
The likes of Romelu Lukaku and Eden Hazard will be looking to continue from where they left off in Russia.
Lukaku hit two at Burnley at the weekend and is First Goalscorer favourite at 7/2 with Marathon while Hazard is 5/1 at 888. Lukaku has 40 goals in 75 internationals and is worth backing.
By contrast, Scotland look a bit thin up top where Alex McLeish is likely to turn to Leigh Griffiths. The Celtic star is 10/1 at Unibet to score first and 21/5 with Unibet to net at any time – and maybe a dead-ball will provide his best chance.
Interestingly Scotland have lost three in a row to Belgium by a 2-0 scoreline and another 2-0 is possible at 6/1 with Ladbrokes.
The Belgians have won four of the last five meetings, scoring at least two on four occasions, and are 8-11 at Unibet to net 2+.
A Belgium to win to nil also looks good at 11/8 with BetVictor as Thibaut Courtois chases another clean sheet.
