FOOTBALL LEAGUE expert Ross Casey (@RossCasey24) shares his favourite fancies from Tuesday’s card.
Doncaster v Bury | Tuesday 17th April 2018, 19:45
Rock bottom Bury were relegated last weekend after a devastating last gasp 3-2 loss to fellow League One strugglers Northampton. A points tally of 30 points from 42 games played is all you need to hear about how poor The Shakers have been this season.
They have lost their last seven matches and scored just four goals in that sequence of defeats that has seen them relegated to League Two. The fight should be gone now from them, and considering they have lost 14 of their 23 away matches this season is proof that perhaps it was never there in the first place.
Doncaster look set for a mid-table finish this season but they are scoring plenty of goals and I expect Josh Marquis to be on the scoresheet. The former Millwall marksman will be hoping to have Championship clubs scouting him after a season where he has netted 13 league goals – including five in his last six games.
Against a Bury side that have conceded 35 away league goals this season, back Marquis to score at a best price of 7/5 with William Hill.
Shrewsbury v Charlton | Tuesday 17th April 2018, 19:45
The Shrews were one of the relegation favourites at the start of the season and they have done ridiculously well to be in the position they are in. If they win their game in hand over second placed Blackburn they will be just two points behind the former Premier League champions, but they have been having a minor wobble of late with injuries, suspensions and general fatigue setting in for their small, lightly rotated squad.
They have won just two of their last six games in all competitions and failed to score in both of their last two matches – which included a disappointing 10 loss to lower league Lincoln in the Football League Trophy at Wembley. Is the long, hard season finally taking its toll?
Charlton have lost five of their last 10 matches, but with the top six still a real possibility and Shrewsbury starting to have a wobble, I like the odds of 51/50 on Charlton +0.25 in the Asian handicap to take at least a point from this fixture on Tuesday.
Accrington v Yeovil | Tuesday 17th April 2018, 19:45
Yeovil have been a bit of a rogue side in League Two this season. They started their season with a complete debacle, losing 8-2 away to Luton, but they have also done the double over Coventry and even beaten table -toppers Accrington in the reverse leg.
You have to look at the over/under market when Yeovil play thanks to their hapless defence and decent attack! They have conceded 46 goals across all competitions on the road and next up for them is an away tie against Accrington.
Table-topping Stanley needed a win over the Grecians to secure promotion to the third tier of English football for the first time in their history, only for their former player Jayden Stockley scoring for Exeter in a 1-1 draw stopping them from securing that then.
So, we move onto tonight with Stanley looking to make history against a leaky Yeovil defence and I fancy there to be goals here.
Both Teams To Score has landed in all three previous encounters between these sides in Accrington and that could well prove profitable at 19/20 tonight with Sportingbet, which is far better odds than just backing Over 2.5 Goals according to the latest League Two odds, so that is my selection – it has landed in 14 Yeovil away games this season, including the last two.
