MARCO Di Cosmo (@scioltz) takes a look at the late Serie A game on Sunday.
Fiorentina v Juventus | Sunday 19:45 | BT Sport Europe
Reigning champions Juventus travel to Florence for one of the fiercest rivalries in Italian football, with the whole city of Florence feeling this match has no other.
Winning against the bianconeri is something priceless for them and Fiorentina are always pushed to the limit by their supporters, and I’ve personally had the chance to assist that.
Poles apart
If we have to assess team’s strength though, the two sides are really far apart with the Viola nowhere near to the level of Juventus. If last season they had a remarkable year finishing 5th, this season they are really struggling, plus the loss of Marcos Alonso to Chelsea and the probable departure of Nicola Kalnic to China are not really helping.
A promising thing for them is the rise of youngster Federico Bernardeschi and I’m confident he could pose some threat to the Juventus defence. Despite their struggles Fiorentina have found the net in all but two home matches, also scoring 10 in the last five, while being not so solid at the back where they conceded eight in these last five encounters.
Offensive Juve
Juve should play an offensive lineup with both Juan Cuadrado and Alex Sandro on their flanks, plus Miralem Pjanic, Paulo Dybala and Gonzalo Higuain to combine upfront.
I have little doubt that they are capable of scoring at ease against Fiorentina, and so, despite being also confident that they could be back home with three points, I’m more confident to bet on goals.
BTTS is the right choice to me here. This has happened in last five home games for Fiorentina in Serie A, while Juventus, who are extremely solid at home, have also conceded at least one goal in their last five.
The only thing that could stop goals would be a defensive approach by the bianconeri, I’m keen to see Allegri be more risky and aim for three points.
