PRO PUNTER Dino Vita (@VitaDino) concludes his campaign with a look at Friday night’s Scottish Championship play-off semi-final featuring his beloved Hibs.
Falkirk v Hibs | Friday 19.45 | BT Sport 1
My last selection of what’s been a great Scottish Championship season comes from Friday night’s play-offs and I’m backing my beloved Hibs to reach the final.
I was there on Tuesday night at Easter Road where Hibs and Falkirk played out a 2-2 draw. Hibs were by far the better side and really should be holding a lead going into the second leg.
Bad goalkeeping and really poor refereeing cost us during that first encounter and gave Falkirk a lifeline for the return fixture.
The return of Dylan McGeouch to the Hibs midfield has been a massive boost and he put in a Man of the Match performance on Tuesday night.
Falkirk are yet to beat Hibs this season in five attempts and although Hibs have only won one of those five encounters, they really should have won on at least four occasions.
The way Hibs played in the second-half on Tuesday is what I’m expecting to see more of on Friday night and if the capital club play like that, I can’t see Falkirk being able to handle them.
Falkirk have had a excellent season and seem to have the knack of hanging in games but if Hibs play like we know they can, I can only see one winner and that’s Alan Stubbs’s men.
